As I write this, the states of California, Oregon and Washington are on fire and there is a tropical storm heading towards Florida. The smoke outside my house in Seattle is so thick that the blue skied, 79 degree day we were expecting never showed through. It feels cold and bleak outside and it's hard to be anything but scared.
I am packing and preparing for a cross country road trip. My original plans for this month were to go to the New Voice Studio in Osimo, Italy where I was to study voice and observe as an apprentice. A lovely trip which was alas canceled due to Covid 19. I dream of rescheduling in 2021 if safety permits. Now I am using this time to visit dear family on the east coast. My route will wind through Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah, Arkansas, Tennessee... and so on, all the way up to Northern New Hampshire. Wish me luck-- free from natural disasters, bears and viruses!
